A pass certifies that, under the named protocol version, the submitted geometry and electronic state satisfy the frozen acceptance criteria: max|F| under the force tolerance times the margin factor, and self-consistency residual under the frozen threshold. This is a stationary point under this protocol. It is not a minimum (that needs phonons) and not a global minimum (never provable).
Margin. Winning submissions must beat the force tolerance by a stated factor. Forces are noisier than energies, and near-threshold results flip across machines. The margin turns that into a bright line.
Domain of applicability. Each protocol version declares the class of systems its cutoffs and grids are converged for. Submissions outside that class are out of scope.
Where verification runs. Always on platform hardware under the frozen protocol. The submitted density is checked, not trusted: the oracle runs its own SCF steps from it, and a sampled fraction of settlements and every dispute are re-solved from the standard initialization. Submitted state cannot alter thresholds or the verdict.
Quantities without a checkable witness (free energies, ensemble averages, binding affinities) are never certified, and no output of this service may be represented as a MarketSolve certification of such a quantity.
The service and all results are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. A certificate is a statement that the frozen protocol produced the published numbers on the published inputs, and nothing more. MarketSolve's total liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the fees you paid to MarketSolve in the twelve months preceding the claim. No indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages.
By submitting a structure (as sponsor) or a candidate solution (as solver), you grant MarketSolve a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, and process the submission to operate the service, including running verifications, publishing the public settlement record of settled problems (recomputability is a term of this marketplace), and using verified results and their associated converged data to build, train, and improve MarketSolve's own models, preconditioners, and datasets, including commercial licensing of aggregated or derived datasets. You retain ownership of your submissions. Problems posted under a confidential tier (when offered) carry the narrower rights stated at posting.
MarketSolve competes in its own marketplace under the published conflict of interest policy, which is incorporated into these terms.
The service distributes third-party software and data under their own licenses (including GPL-licensed solver binaries and CC BY 4.0 pseudopotential files, each identified in the container's NOTICE file). Nothing in these terms restricts any right those licenses grant you in the covered components. Where these terms and a component's license conflict as to that component, the component's license controls.
Material changes will be posted here with a dated changelog. Continued use after posting is acceptance.
